The spec · Every site gets all of it

What you're actually getting.

This isn't a menu where you pick and choose. Every site gets all of it.

  1. It's built by hand, for you

Your site gets designed around your business instead of stamped out of a template a thousand other businesses are already using.

There's a common way of building sites where you assemble them out of prefabricated blocks. It's quicker for whoever's building it, and it looks fine on day one. The trouble shows up later. Those sites carry a lot of extra weight, they get slow, and when one of the pieces stops being maintained, things start breaking in ways nobody planned for.

Yours gets built properly. It's more work up front, and it's the reason everything below this holds up.

  2. It's fast on a phone with one bar

Your customer isn't sitting at a desk. They're in somebody's driveway with bad signal, or on a phone that's four years old.

So I keep your site light. Fewer moving parts, photos sized so they don't take forever to show up, nothing loading in the background that doesn't need to be there. Your site comes up in a couple of seconds on a connection that would leave most small business sites spinning.

If somebody has to wait, they leave. And you never find out they were there.

  3. It works for everyone

Some of your customers are on an old phone. Some can't use a mouse. Some have their phone read the page out loud to them. Some just need bigger text.

Every site I build works for all of them. Readable type, buttons that are easy to hit, enough contrast to see in bright light, and everything reachable without a mouse.

That's not a box I tick at the end. It's built in from the start, and it means nobody who wants to hire you gets stuck trying.

  4. Google can tell what your business is

Clean structure, proper headings, and the behind-the-scenes information that tells Google what you do, where you are, and how to reach you.

That part I control, and I do it properly on every site. What I won't do is promise you a spot at the top of the page, because nobody honestly can. Plenty of people will happily take your money to promise it anyway. If one of them ever gets in touch with you, forward it to me and I'll tell you what I think.

  5. It stays up, and it's backed up

Your customers' information is protected, your site stays online, and there's always a recent copy saved. If something ever breaks, I've got a version from before it broke.

  6. It gets picked apart before you ever see it

Before anything goes live I spend hours going through it, and not just looking at it. I use it three ways: as you, as your customer, and as what Google sees.

As you, because you should want to send people the link. As your customer, because they're the one actually trying to get something done. As Google, because if the structure underneath is wrong, none of the rest matters.

It goes live when I run out of things to fix.

One monthly price covers all of it, and when something needs changing you email me and it gets handled.See what it costs →See what happens when you reach out →

Sec. 02 · Already online

Already have a website?

That's normal, and it's more common than not. Usually somebody built it a few years back and then got busy, and now you're not entirely sure who has the logins or who owns your domain.

You don't have to start over to get help. I'll look after it the same way I'd look after one I built myself. Hosting, security, updates, changes, the same attention either way.

I'll track down where everything actually lives, get your domain into your name if it isn't already, and hand you a document that says where all of it is. If a rebuild ever genuinely makes sense, we'll talk about it then. Not before.
